Finora ("we") helps you identify fish from photos you choose. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect

• The photos you submit for identification.
• Basic app data: an anonymous account identifier, your identifications (catch log) and your settings, stored in Google Firebase on your behalf.

How identification works

When you scan a fish, the photo you selected is sent to OpenAI, our AI provider, which returns the species and its details. We do not send your name, email or account identifier to OpenAI. Per OpenAI's API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train their models.

Third parties we use

• OpenAI — processes the photo you submit to identify the fish.
• Google Firebase — authentication, database and file storage.

Each provider is contractually required to protect your data to the same or an equivalent standard described here.

How we use your data

Only to provide the app's functionality: identifying fish, saving your catch log, and managing your subscription. We do not sell your data and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Your choices

• AI identification is off until you agree, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings.
• You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account.

Data retention

Your catch log stays until you delete individual items or your account. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems.
